Sometimes you just wish you could unfriend someone again.

Inductive Solar Charger

Is it a solar inductive charger or an inductive solar charger?

Anyway, this device would have a solar panel and if you set a device on it, it will charge it inductively.  Most of the time the device sites around the house soaking up solar power.  When a device is detected on it, it turns on the inductor to charger inductively.

Cell Phone Walkie Talkie

This is not as ridiculous as it sounds.  There would be a lot of advantages to having walkie talkie capabilities in your cell phone especially in something like a track phone.  For one thing you can set up a communication channel when you are travelling with a group in different cars without having to call everyone individually.  I have to give credit for this one to my friend Kurt.

3D Printed Circuits

How about a device that will produce integrated circuits.  Like a 3D printer except you get a packaged chip out when it is done.

Alternate Physics Systems

Write a physics simulator to modify the physical constants of the universe.  What if the speed of light were only 100 mph or even 10 mph?  You would start getting relativistic effects when you went for a run or a bike ride.  What would happen if the charge on the electron were slightly different, or if positive and negative charges were unequal or gravity were much larger.  A simulator could be written where someone could experiment with universal physical constants and see what happens to the universe.

Designing Analog Chips

There is an awesome book on designing analog chips available for free over at http://www.designinganalogchips.com/_count/designinganalogchips.pdf .  This was written by Hans Camenzind best known for inventing the 555 timer chip.

Tube Chips

What if vacuum tubes had progressed in the same direction as integrated circuits?  Becoming smaller and more integrated.  Would it be possible to build an integrated vacuum tube circuit with hundreds or thousands of tiny vacuum tubes built into a chip like circuit?  Would there be an advantage to doing this?

Update: Korg musical instruments has developed a vacuum tube oscillator using a method similar to what I describe here.  It is called a nutube and you can get one in the Nubass synthesizer.
